![]() ![]() Recording would be a nice touch depending again on cost difference. English is the default language for the site, with content also available in Arabic, Chinese and Russian. 7 day epg not vital, would be a nice bonus, but from what I know, Freesat doesn't have such a large range of foreign language channels from that region, so I wouldn't want to buy a freesat box just for astra. The language switcher is displayed prominently in the top-right of the page, allowing visitors to change to their preferred language wherever they are on the site. Not sure which of these options is most cost friendly and practical. So I basically need both Astra 28 and Hotbird 13b - prefer to use 80cm dish for best chance of best signal - I could either get the sky dish positioned for Astra and and a new dish for Hotbird, or just aim to use the 80cm dish for both, and depending on the setup I go for I'd need an appropriate new receiver. #ASTRA LANGUAGE SWITCHER FREE#I'm just using a sky receiver atm to receive the free channels available on Astra. #ASTRA LANGUAGE SWITCHER FULL#It is possible on a 60cm dish in the South of the UK but an 80cm woukd give better "rain fade" for bad weather.Īs regards connecting receiver(s) to it - it depends on what he wants on them - if he wants a full 7 day EPG on 28E then a freesat box would be ideal for that To the OP what receiver do you have at present?īang on. He needs two separate lnbs on a dish centred on 19.2 with the two lnbs either side - but then he may as well add a third lnb for 19.2. He is not talking about Astra 1 at 19.2 here - he requires Astra 2 at 28E (read his posts) and I am fairly certain you will not get a monoblock to cover 15 degree separation. Recording channels is not vital although I suppose it would be a nice bonus if the cost difference is insignificant.Īlso, none of the local dish fitters have fitted a dish for hotbird before and they basically told me to do all of the research outside of the dish fitting - so any extra info I might need to make this work first time, or recommendations on specific receiver models etc, would be great. More expensive setup but won't be paying labour to align the sky dish. Forget about the Sky dish, and use a new dual-LNB dish and dual-feed receiver for both Hotbird and Astra. Quite a bit more expensive box I'm told - but I assume I can easily view all astra and hotbird channels together.ģ. ![]() Get an 80cm dish, use my Sky dish for astra, but use one dual-feed box for both. Get a single-feed fta box for the new dish and use the Sky box for the Sky Dish.Ģ. Get an 80cm dish which is pointed at Hotbird, get my Sky dish pointed at Astra 28. Taking into account that I'd like something easy to use and practical, but without too high excess costs, which of the following would you recommend.ġ. I would like to get Hotbird 13b to watch alongside it. The Sky dish has recently been obstructed by building work, and needs realigning. We currently get Astra channels via Sky dish and box. ![]()
